David serrano
He participated in championships in Spain and Catalonia in all categories before training as an assistant coach and advanced swimming coach with the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation and is also a personal trainer and fitness instructor.
David has been the second coach for the first team at Mediterrani Sports Club for 14 seasons and covers positions in lower categories for the Juniors. He is also in charge of early-stage professional swimming.
In 2015, he came first in the Catalan championships in the Masters +35 category in the 100m backstroke and the 4x50m medley, and he also regularly competes in open water events, particularly his favourite in Banyoles Lake, where he has won several medals.
David currently works as a fitness instructor and personal trainer at Mediterrani Sports Club.
Passionate about training and striving to improve at any level, he continues to learn and bring in new techniques whenever possible, including dryland training for swimmers.
Marc Mas
As a coach he competed as a master, coming third in the 800m and 400m freestyle in the Spanish championships in Vigo, and first in the Catalonia open masters +35 in the 400m and 200m freestyle.
He has competed in numerous open water events, with some of his highlights including:
- Third in the 3000m Spanish Masters +35 Championships in Banyoles.
- Second in the Illes Medes without a wetsuit.
- First in the under 40s in the Swim by Sunset.
- Third in Sitges.
- Podium in the Travessia a Sau.
As well as being a lifeguard and children’s monitor, Marc is an all-round sportsman, including diving, marathon running and coming fifth in the Oxfam 100km trail walker.
